The Beatles often wrote about places in their lives. Penny Lane was a street in Liverpool where the lads grew up. Strawberry Field was the name of a Salvation Army children's home just around the corner from John's birthplace. Listen to The Ballad of John and Yoko. And of course, we all know about Abbey Road in London. So, when it came time to name the band, all we had to do was stand in front of the hospital -- and there it was. The street sign. It was meant to be. Osler Circle.
